In 1911, the first International Women’s Day was held. Over a century later, this global celebration of women’s achievements continues. Groups, companies, and individuals worldwide come together on March 8 each year. The goal is to raise awareness about women’s equality and gender parity, and also to fundraise for female-focused charities. This day provides a platform for collaborations that can impact positive change for women worldwide.
The theme of this year’s celebration is “choose to challenge.” A challenged world is an alert world. Individually, we’re all responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day. We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women’s achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world. From challenge comes change, so let’s all choose to challenge.
As a woman-owned business, Employment Enterprises (and its subsidiaries, Temporary Solutions and Checks and Balances) rises to the call to challenge the status quo and advocate for women. We strive to amplify the voices of those who can create change within the business community and the world at large. We always look for other women-owned businesses to support and use their services whenever we can.
Employment Enterprises is certified in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE) and Small, Women-Owned and Minority-Owned Company (SWaM) as well as a Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) company recognized on a national level.
